Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Paperbird handles some of the most personal information there is. This policy explains — plainly — what we store and what we never do with it.

What we store

Your drafts and finished documents are stored on your device. If you sign in, they are also synced to your private account so you can access them on other devices. Synced documents are encrypted in transit and at rest on our servers using standard server-side encryption (not end-to-end encryption), and we do not read them — our systems only access them to store and sync them for you. If you use the app as a guest, your documents never leave your device.

Diagnostics and app usage

To fix bugs and make it easier to use, the app sends us crash reports, performance data and anonymous usage events: the screens and steps you reach, the document type you pick, and actions like exporting a PDF, sharing the app or being asked to rate it. This happens whether or not you sign in. Each install gets a random ID, and our provider estimates a rough location (city or region) from your IP address without storing the address. Usage events never include what you write in your documents, and none of this is linked to your account. Sentry processes this data for us as a service provider. We never sell it.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your document contents for advertising or to train AI models. Documents are generated on your device from built-in templates.

Account information

If you create an account we store the identifier you signed up with (email address, phone number, or the ID provided by Apple/Google) to authenticate you. That’s it.

Your choices

You can clear all local data from Settings at any time. If you created an account, you can delete it — along with your synced documents — directly from Settings → Delete Account. No email or waiting required. You can also contact us at any time with questions about your data.

Children

Paperbird is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
